I read an awesome blog post last night! It was by a friend Barbara Becker...here is her post: http://barbarabeckerhealing.com/shining-our-light-allows-us-to-help-others-in-darkness/
In her post she talks about controlling your thoughts (as well as many other great things)...I started thinking about this...I spend a lot of time thinking thoughts that do nothing by sap my energy!
A thought seeps into my consciousness and I follow it to the end (or until I cannot take it any farther)...all the while, the thought is not important and there is no solution...it is pointless, but I do this all day long!
Many years ago, I practiced and got pretty good at controlling my words (keeping them positive to help me be positive) and it really helped me to have better days and be happier. I didn't think about the thoughts I have that don't matter...they aren't necessarily BAD thoughts...just pointless (and some are bad).
So, I am going to set out to control my thoughts!!! I have decided that when I have a thought that I am pretty sure is going nowhere...I am just going to say to myself, "let that go" and think about something that does matter - like my son, husband, business etc. I cannot say for sure, but I think that if I stop these pointless thoughts, I will have much more energy to solve problems, be successful at my business and be a loving Mom and wife. Thus, the title...Control Your Thoughts and Conserve Your Energy!
BTW, I am working on an amazing quilt that inspires me...here is a pic!
Wish me luck!!!

Now those are great thoughts to think about.. thanks for sharing these words of wisdom. I am making a commitment right now to stop those thoughts that are zapping my energy.
Great post, Liz! It is great that you were able to apply the wisdom from Barbara's article and create an inspiring article from it. Love your quilt, too!
I'm glad you were inspired by my article, Liz. I find when my thoughts are happy, loving and calm, I have more energy for myself and to be of service to others. Your quilt is beautiful. I love your work!

Great post. I used to be checking continuously this weblog and I'm inspired! Very useful information specifically the ultimate phase :) I take care of such information a lot. I was looking for this particular information for a long time. Thank you and best of luck.
Stop by my weblog summer internship
Yes, controlling as well as being aware of thoughts takes lots of self disipline but is very much needed. If we don't know when or how to control things, we get carried away, become unproductive and yes even sick from all the stress.
Love this post, Liz! It's such an important reminder because it sure works when I do it, so thank you! Love your new quilt, too!
I also learned to let go of all concerns where I had no control, Liz. If I started thinking of something that was irritating or worrisome, I'd actually ask myself, "Is this something I can change?" If it wasn't, I simply let it go. Why get anxious on top of feeling powerless? ;-)
great post liz! Love your quilt too:-)
I will have to take a page from you. My energy has be zapped due to long arm quilting machine problems. However, my husband and I are taking a step to correct it and get a machine that is worth my time and my customers.
